RegistrarsWe are a training practice. Registrars are qualified doctors who have to do three years' extra training to become a general practitioner. Two years are spent in hospital and the third year in a practice. Registrars have full responsibility and will be placed on the rota; they work closely with one of the other doctors. StudentsStudents are not qualified doctors. They work with the practice as part of their training to become doctors. If you do not wish a student to be present during your consultation you are at liberty to refuse. The Primary Health Care TeamPractice ManagerThe practice manager, Mrs Patsy Campbell,
plans future developments and has overall responsibility for the administration
of the practice. Team LeaderThe senior team leader, Paula Paisley,
supports the administrator in ensuring the smooth running of the practice and
deals with minor queries. ReceptionistsThe receptionists are there to help
you. They will make appointments for you to see the doctors and nurses and answer
general - not medical - queries. Please help them by being co-operative. Practice NursesThe practice nurses provide general
nursing care, dressings, ear syringing, removal of sutures and treatment of minor
cuts and sprains. They also run various clinics promoting prevention of ill health
and perform routine blood tests, immunisations, cervical smears and family planning. District NursesThere is a district nursing team attached
to the practice who are primarily available to give nursing care to patients
in their homes at the request of the doctors. Community MidwivesThe midwives assist with the antenatal
clinic on Wednesdays and will visit you after you have had your baby. Health VisitorsHealth visitors are highly trained nurses who give care and advice to families and their younger children under five. They are based at the Willesden Centre for health and care. |
